Few automobiles embody the term "survivor" as authentically as this exceptional 1969 Porsche 912. Showing just 92,000 original miles, this first-year long wheelbase 912 has been cared for by only four conscientious owners over the past 57 years. Retaining its original paint, original interior, documented history, and accident-free pedigree, it stands as a rare and wonderfully preserved example of one of Porsche's most beloved models.

Completed on March 3, 1969, this desirable long wheelbase 912 was delivered in the elegant and highly sought-after color combination of Slate Grey over Black Leatherette. Factory-equipped options included 15-inch chrome-plated wheels, tinted windshield and side glass, tinted rear window, a left-side manual antenna, and a dashboard-mounted speaker.

Chassis 129022586 was delivered new through Century Motor Sales in Alhambra, California, on May 28, 1969. Its first owner, George Payson, enjoyed the car briefly before passing it to Dan and Ginny McGregor of Los Angeles. The McGregors would become long-term custodians, cherishing the 912 for spirited canyon drives, weekend cruise-ins, and wine country excursions along California's Central Coast.

More than simply owners, the McGregors were true caretakers. Long before originality became highly valued within the Porsche community, they appreciated and preserved unique factory details such as the original antenna key and rare orange fuel filler flap. Recognizing the car's exceptional condition, they ultimately placed the 912 into long-term storage during the late 1980s to ensure its preservation for future generations.

In 2002, the McGregors carefully selected the next steward of the car, interviewing prospective buyers before entrusting it to Lisa Fitz, a dedicated Porsche enthusiast and future PCA concours competitor. Under Lisa's ownership, the 912 continued its preservation-focused journey. Mechanical items were addressed only as necessary, while the car's originality remained paramount. During her stewardship, respected Porsche specialist David Loop rebuilt the engine and transmission in 2004, and the suspension was refreshed with new bushings. Throughout, the goal remained unchanged: preserve the car's extraordinary original paint and interior.

Lisa's careful stewardship earned significant recognition within the Porsche community. As a PCA concours specialist, she captured numerous First Place awards in both PCA and SCCA competition and was honored with the 912 Registry Rendezvous People's Choice Award, further validating the car's exceptional authenticity and presentation.

The fourth and current owner, a renowned Porsche collector with a particular passion for Slate Grey 912s, acquired the car in 2006. Drawn to its extraordinary provenance, originality, and documented ownership history, he exercised the same thoughtful care as his predecessors. The 912 was used sparingly for scenic backroad drives and Cars & Coffee gatherings while receiving routine maintenance and attention from our shop.

Today, this 1969 Porsche 912 remains one of the most honest and rewarding examples we have had the pleasure to drive. The combination of its preservation, ownership history, and mechanical integrity creates an experience that is increasingly difficult to find in today's collector car market.
